LATEST UPDATES!
Thursday, July 12, 2007 : 9:58 PM

HELLO HIGHFIVERS OF THE WORLD!

I hope all of you are in the pink of health. Anyway, good news everyone! Tapestry is just around the corner, this coming 28th and 29th of July! For Tapestry to be as fun and successful like every year, we'll need as many volunteers as possible so please feel free to get your friends to come join us for the day(HighFiver or not!). Obviously, unlike your many boring flagdays, Tapestry offers a whole new exciting experience of fund-raising! You could enjoy both the performances and fund-raising at the same time! Just 2 days in a year of fun, music and meaning! So come on down and give us your support for TAPESTRY 2007!

By the by, I extend my pleasure of posting on our HighFive blog to all HighFivers all there! You could post about your experience at any HighFive event, feelings about HighFive and anything at all! To post, simply send your name and email address to bryant.toh@gmail.com. However, do remember that you should exercise responsibility in every post, and that every post should be post-sensitive. Thank you!(:

Cheers,
Bra(:

Camp Vivant! 2007
Sunday, June 10, 2007 : 12:24 AM

I didn't pop by enough to see it all.

I dropped by the first night to find an unprecedented first night. I'd thought unlike many camps, HighFive promises so much to each and every one of us - fun, friends, bonds, whatever it could be. It's perhaps the figures. It could be the weathered campsite. Well, then it must have been the mouth-watering camp food(peppered with sarcasm, of course).

Back in 2005, we had everything you could ever imagine - the air-conditioned dorms, great canteen food, immense fun, great facilities - you name it. But now, it's only the same old faces you see. A measly figure from a strength of 70-odd perhaps. Even the heaven-bestowed amenitities could not prevent people from saying their goodbyes - not even a single thank-you.

So we asked ourselves, 'Why is saying goodbye a lot easier?', or 'Why am I here?' I've made wonderful friends, and I can't have a good count of how many with the number of fingers and toes I have. They are special to you, you know they are. Haikel, Li Ling, Shuyan, Wanling, Boonhan, Haresh, Dawn, Nicholas, Sheqal, Ramesh and many, many more. I'm sure you know how useless vocabulary can be when it comes to describing how special these friends are. HighFivers - wonderful working partners, great friends(always there when you need a good hug). And I still remember tearing so badly with Li Ling on the phone after Cutter'05 for weeks. Right Li Ling, it's no longer a secret.

I think I've finally figured how we have come to love HighFive this much. The best way? Put your mind(ideas), body(commitment), soul(passion) into any project. Give it a shot. It could be anything. Only then you'll find out. To be honest, I've never felt obliged to go for any HighFive activity, event of any sort. The reason is simple: I'm just here to help. And I will try my best to(:

I browsed Friendster quite a bit, and I'm glad to find out bits and pieces about the new-found love of some great people. People who have come to share their ideas and journey along this road together. People whom I call, HighFivers. (:

Much love to each and every one of you,
Bra(:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Sunday, June 03, 2007 : 11:16 AM

HELLO PEOPLE OF THE WORLD!!!

It's been a while for many of us since we'd last seen the familiar faces, and we miss them somehow. I do. That is why, I'm hoping that I could meet up with these familiar faces as much I can this holiday, I hope you will too. In fact, I'm popping by Camp Vivant! this monday night to check out new additions to our big, extended family! Just hope I could meet as many familiar faces as possible then so I won't need to make multiple appointments. (:

Meanwhile, I hope you guys out there stay healthy and happy!

Happy holidays,
Bra(:

GET SET FOR THE HIGHFIVE RUSH!
Sunday, April 01, 2007 : 4:32 PM

HELLO EVERYONE!

It's been a long while since we've had anything exciting. This is because nobody sees/hears about the hard work put in behind every project! So do give your utmost support for your fellow HighFivers by participating in the upcoming events and projects! Here's a peek at what's coming up:

Recruitment 2007!

Applications are now open till the 16th April! So if you've got friends who have a passion for volunteerism, do invite them to join our family tree! Surely your experience in HighFive has been an unforgettable one, one that you would never regret having. You may forget about everything you've schooled for in the near future, but you would not forget about the smiles, the laughters, the tears, the hardwork, the camaraderie and the oneness you've all once shared. The greatest joy is to indeed, share these experiences with your beloved friends! In fact, as part of our publicity campaign for Recruitment'07, we're going to tell the whole world about HighFive at CLAP! this coming Friday 6th April at 730pm, Far East Plaza and Saturday 7th April at 730pm Toa Payoh Central Amphitheatre! So please, do come and give us your support! Oh and there'll be tea sessions on 5th and 19th May so HighFivers, you're welcome to drop by. Camp Vivant! this coming June Holidays 4th - 7th, HURRAH!

Act for Dementia, D-Act Reversathon'07!

Just last year, the D-Act campaign was launched with a skit put on by students from the Nanyang Girls' High at six secondary schools, allowing students to understand dementia as a disease pertinent to our ageing population. With the success of last year, the D-Act committee, coupled with confidence and determination, brings to you the Reversathon at the Esplanade Park! You may ask, why 'Reversathon'? As part of the walkathon, we're tracing our steps - backwards! This unprecedented Reversathon will happen on 27th May at 8am, with a roadshow from 9am onwards. Along with us, we have beloved Mayor Zainudin Nordin as our Guest-of-Honour! Leave your footprints behind by helping out, or simply participate in this unique Reversathon! (:

Tapestry'07

Town never comes alive without Tapestry! Known to many, Tapestry celebrates her 7th birthday this coming July 27th to 29th! Since 2001, Tapestry has touched many lives(including our own) in raising funds for our worthy beneficiaries with street-busking. As dictionary.com would like to define, a tapestry is 'Something felt to resemble a richly and complexly designed cloth'. Indeed, Tapestry is a representation of the rich culture we have in Singapore for the arts, music and dance. This year, Tapestry promises you a lot more variety of music and dance performances and for the likes of people like me - art appreciation! Graffiti, for instance. Bask in the goodness of music and dance with us, along the streets of Orchard this coming July!

P.S.

This month's April so it means.. my birthday is in 29 days' time! This is no April Fools' joke, mind you.. 30th April, people! :D

Much love folks!
Bra(:

A BEGINNING AND AN END
Tuesday, January 30, 2007 : 11:57 AM

Indeed, it's both a beginning and an end.

AGM was pretty good for those who made it down, I extend my thanks to each and everyone of you! There were faces we haven't seen for a while, like what Siew Mui said. It's just like Chinese New Year; you only get to see your relatives once a year. And some of us have already become distant relatives. What happened to the memories and the laughter? Have they become moments forever faded?

As much as we wanted our beloved Kiki & Lala fan to stay as our Queen, we have to let her go 'establish her kingdom in NWCDC'. To me, she's one of the best and the most amiable person I'd ever know. And there probably exist a few of such. I'm sure it's the same for you. Last Saturday, Siew Mui heralded, and our teary-eyed Queen Yenpeng said her final words in High Five. Her speech was armed with the odourless smell of onions, teasing the descend of several tear drops. While it seems to me that someone has taken away my tear-ducts, I felt a subtle sense of loss. Despite receiving news about her departure a couple of days back.

Here I wish Queen Yenpeng all the best in all her endeavours. We will always remember the good times we've had, the love we've shared and we'll keep all these close to our hearts and this would endure the weathering of eternity.

Love always,
Bra(:
